Hi guys, just thought you might want to post the results of the cycling events of BC Summer Games which took place this weekend from the 23rd to the 26th. So far I only have the mountain bike results available. The MTB race took place on Friday morning at Mike Lake in Golden Ears Park, Maple Ridge. The race course started out with a gradual gravel climb which lasts about 15 minutes, then the descents were in the single track switch-back which was quite technical, there was also a 2km fireroad climb before you get back to the start/finish. It was incredibly hot, around 30 degrees so many racers suffered dehydration. All categories were extremely competitive. In Cadet Men, there was a three men break led by Jaimie Douglas. Jaimie actually finished first but he failed to cross the finish line (went across the lap line instead) and was told to re-cross the finish after Clayton Hiltz had finished. In the Senior Men race, there was a two men break and it came down to a sprint finish which was won by Dylan Sebel at the end after one hour and 50 minutes. More results to come, including the road which took place today.
