Walker and McQuaid Rule Whistler
Melanie McQuaid (Rocky Mountain) and Adam Walker (Gary Fisher/Rip n Hammer) continued their winning way today at the Whistler International Classic AMBC races. After winning their respective Dirt Crits last night, both went out today and won cross-country races in their elite categories.
McQuaid led from start to finish in the women‚s race. „It was a scorcher! I went out really hard in the first lap, blew a bit after, but I was comfy in front.‰ McQuaid won by 2:35 over Linda Robichaud (Gary Fisher).
Walker had a little tougher time of it. After leading the first lap, he was overtaken by Duane Kress (Klein) on the second. However, he fought back up to the front: „I came through with Duane at the start of the last lap, and then attacked him just after the feedzone. We were catching and overtaking an Expert rider, so it was a good move tactically.‰
