2nd Annual Ride for the Wild Roses, Two-up Time Trial
Cancer Research Charity Fundraiser, Saturday July 3rd, Cochrane, Alberta.
Race Day Registration: 9:00-10:30am July 3rd at Mitford Pond Recreation Area, Cochrane, Alberta. (same a this year's Prairie Steamer)
West of Hwy 1A. Mitford Pond is located on Westrock Road off Hwy 22 approx. Ikm South of Hwy 1A and Hwy 22 Intersection.
Entry Fee: 40$ per team. Cheques payable to Rebecca Wilkinson - Ride for the Wild Roses. (100% of the proceeds raised from this event are donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation to aid in cancer research)
Categories: 1/2, 3, 4, 5, Women, Paralympic (note: teams may be composed of riders from different categories with placing being accorded to the highest ranked rider.)
Details of the Event: The two-up time trial will begin on Horse Creek Road at 11:00, with teams starting at 1 minute intervals. Horse Creek Road is located approx. 1km West of Hwy 1A and the Hwy 22 intersection. The course proceeds approx. 18km north at which point there is a turnaround. Time of the second rider will be taken if riders are separated.
CAUTION: Turn Around Point: No traffic control at the turn around however there will be marshals present to help guide riders.RIDERS MUST YIELD TO CARS.
Prizes: Cash prizes will be given to Cat 1/2 and Women, according to ABA prize policy. All remaining categories will receive merchandise prizes, provided by our generous sponsors, in order to provide more money for charity.
