.Report 1- 11:50 am MTN time

It is a beautiful sunny day as the riders await the start of todays World Cup #6. All of the top 20 men are in attendance with the exception of Lukas Stockli (SUI) Univega/Descente and Thomas Frischnecht (SUI) Ritchey.

Report 2- 12:.05 pm MTN time

And they are off. They will do a 1/2 lap (which includes „THE CHUTE‰, )and then head out for the first full lap of 5, making the race 5.5 laps long.

From the gun, current World Champion, Hubert Paulhuber, hoping for advantage, leads the charge.

Report 3- 12:30 pm MTN time

They are going through „The Chute‰ for the first time. It is much muddier than yesterday due to some rain overnight. No one is riding, all are hiking their bikes up onto their shoulders and running, or sliding, down.

Canadians are, 25th Andreas Hestler, 32nd Chris Sheppard, 37th Seamus McGrath and 42nd Roland Green.

Report 4- 12:50 pm MTN time

There is now a lead group of 7 about 20 seconds away from the rest of the pack. This group includes the current top 3 in the rankings. Filip Meirhaeghe is the Specialized rider in the lead NOT Brentjens as earlier reported. Following Meirhaeghe is Van Dooren, Hoydahl, Pallhuber, Martinez, Cadel Evans and another rider whose name I could not hear over the screaming of the spectators watching this second trip down „the Chute‰.

Report 5- 1:00 pm MTN time

At the start of the 2nd lap the lead group is now 5: Meirhaeghe, Van Dooren, Hoydahl, Pallhuber, Martinez, with Cadel Evans and Luca Bramati about 20 seconds back. There is another group of 4 which includes Bart Brentjens about 1:15 behind the leaders and another group about 15 seconds back of them which includes Andreas Hestler.

Report 6- 1:25 pm MTN time

Beginning the third lap Meirhaeghe is off the front by about 45 seconds. The chase group contains Van Dooren, Hoydahl, Pallhuber, Martinez, Cadel Evans. Bramati has been dropped and is about 1:30 behind. At about 3:15 is the group that contains Brentjens.

Report 7 - 1:50 pm MTN time

Half way through the 3rd lap the leaders have all split up. Meirhaeghe is still off the front but his lead has dropped to 35 seconds. Behind him is Martinez chasing on his own. Cadel Evans is behind Martinez by about 20 seconds. Hoydahl and Van Dooren are about 1:15 back of Meirhaegh, with Pallhuber in 6th at 1:50.

Kirk Molday has moved from 26th to 16th on this lap. Andreas Hestler is still 19th. Peter Wedge has moved to 21st and Chris Sheppard to 27th.

Report 8 -2:00 pm MTN time

At the start of the 4th lap Meirhaeghe is beginning to tire and his lead looks to be in jeopardy. Martinez is looking stong in second and is only 10 seconds back. Cadel Evans is comfortable in 3rd and is about 20 seconds back of Meirhaeghe. Hoydahl is 4th at 35 seconds and Van Dooran at 45 seconds.

Peter Wedge has moved up to 18th, Hestler is in 20th and Chris Sheppard has jumped to 21st.

Report 9 - 2:10 pm MTN time

They are now 6 km into lap 4 and Martinez has caught Meirhaeghe and is leading him through the Devonian Drop. Cadel Evans is 36 seconds behind them and Hoydahl is at 1:05.

Report 10- 2:30 pm MTN time

Final lap begins. Martinez and Meirhaeghe are together. Cadel Evans, not be counted out, has closed the gap to 15 seconds. Hoydahl is 45 seconds back and Van Dooren is at 1:05.

Report 11- 2:35 pm MTN time

Cadel Evans has made his move. With 2 km to go he has caught and passed Martinez and Meirhaeghe. Evans has put 10 seconds between him and Martinez. Martinez has dropped Meirhaeghe (now 20 seconds behind Evans) as he tries to keep up with Evans.

Migel Martinez (FRA) Sunn had to settle for second and third goes to Filip Meirhaeghe (BEL)MTN Dew/Specialized. Hoydahl (NOR) Giant takes 4th and Bas Van Dooren (NED) BE-One is 5th.
