`Cross Nationals Thank You
Thank you all for helping us put on one the greatest shows of Canadian Cyclocross in years. We were blessed with perfect weather by the beaches of Jericho Park just west of downtown Vancouver. We had spectacular racing in all categories with dominating performances by Peter Wedge and Max Plaxton and tight battles to the line between Wendy Simms and Samantha Nicholson in the women's elite race and Todd Barraclough finally upsetting perennial Masters A champ Sean Barr.
The event drew the largest and most diverse participation of the last 3 National Championships with only 51% of racers coming from the home province compared to 68% and 67% respectively for the previous 2 Championships. Close to 1500 spectators took in the event during the day and a large majority saw their first cyclocross race.
We had a great time hosting the event and would like to thank our sponsors, suppliers, volunteers and the many racers from across the country that came in support of the coolest, self propelled, "No time to spit" sport in the world.
Thanks again and plan to come back for a bigger International event on the same course next year! Stay tuned.

Crescent Park Cyclocross Series: Round Two!!!
Courtesy Jason Fluckiger
On Saturday, November 15th, the Bayside Cycling Club is presenting the second race in the Crescent Park Cyclocross Series. The organizers have received much positive feedback about the first race and are hoping that the second race will be even better. The course is not only fun and challenging for the racers but also great for spectators. Considering that the race venue is close to both Vancouver and Washington State the race could potentially attract both top Canadian and American talent.
Mountain bikes are welcome and there are great cash/merchandise prizes that have been generously donated by our sponsors: Adidas, Symmetrics Cycling, O'Hagan's Cycles, HammerBar, Raw Wear, Cloverdale Cycles, Starbucks Coffee and Rona.
