Party with the Azzurri!
This is probably going to be the party at the Worlds - a chance to have dinner with the Italian team! Organized by Giuseppi Ferrara, one of the initial founders of the Hamilton Worlds, the team will be having dinner at Liuna Station, the refurbished Hamilton train station on James Street. Ferrara says that the entire Italian team will be there including, yes, outgoing world champion Mario Cipollini and this year's favourite Paolo Bettini.
The party takes place Monday, October 6th, starting at 6:30 pm. The cost is $75 per person, and includes a superb buffet dinner. There are only a limited number of tickets available, and you must book by Midnight (EDT) Sunday, October 5th. To reserve your tickets, click here.
Hard Road Premier
It is only one week until the Canadian Premier of The Hard Road, the movie which tracks a first year professional team through an entire season on the U.S. circuit. If you love bike racing, you will want to see The Hard Road.
There will be a total of 6 screenings over 4 days in Hamilton during the Road Worlds - one each next Wednesday and Thursday (October 8th and 9th) at 6:00 pm, and 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm shows on Friday and Saturday (October 10th and 11th). Tickets are $10. Only 55 seats are available for each showing at the Stair Case Theatre, so get your tickets before it is too late.
Click on The Hard Road button at the top of the screen for more information and to order your tickets. As a bonus, everyone who orders their tickets before October 3rd (ie, Midnight EDT October 2nd) will be entered into a draw for a pair of week long grandstand tickets for the World Championships, valued at $300.
