UN AVERTISSEMENT ET UN BLAME POUR RICHARD GROENENDAAL

Suite aux propos qu'il avait tenu dans un magazine belge (29.01.02)) et à l'altercation qu'il avait eu avec un spectateur lors de la course de Diegem (BEL, 31.12.01), le coureur Richard Groenendaal était invité, en date du 5 avril 2002, à se présenter devant la Commission Disciplinaire de l'UCI.

Compte tenu de la défense du coureur, et au vu des circonstances particulières, la Commission Disciplinaire a sanctionné Richard Groenendaal d'un avertissement pour avoir tenu des propos considérés indélicats, ainsi que ‘un blâme pour s'être emporté à l'encontre d'un spectateur.

La Commission Disciplinaire de l'UCI estime ces sanctions adéquates à éviter que des faits de ce genre ne se reproduisent.

WARNING AND BLAME FOR RICHARD GROENENDAAL

Following his quotes in a Belgian magazine (29.01.02) and his dispute with a spectator during the race in Diegem (BEL, 31.12.01), the rider Richard Gorenendaal was invited, on the 5th of April 2002, to appear in front of the UCI's Disciplinary Commission.

Following the riders' defense, and seeing the particular circumstances, the Disciplinary Commission has sanctioned Richard Groenendaal of a warning for improper language, and a blame for losing his temper with a spectator.

The UCI's Disciplinary Commission considers these sanctions adequate so that such events do not happen again.
