Penticton Training Camp Follow Up
The 2002 Penticton Training Camp, hosted by elitewave.com would like to thank Outdoor Gear Canada, Opus Bicycles, Columbia Sportswear, Minoura, Rudy Project and Canadian Cyclist for their support of this year's training camp - coached by Ron Hayman and Dan Proulx in the sunny Okanagan.
This year's camp was attended by 32 athletes - who completed over 600 kilometers of riding during the week long cycling immersion.
The camp provides athletes with a chance to get early season miles, personalized coaching and detailed training information from professional cycling coaches. Hayman and Proulx have been involved with the camps since 1995 and are planning to extend their services to a variety of groups and locations throughout the year.
The City of Penticton is an integral part of the Penticton Training Camp. Local sponsors like the Hogg's Breath, Tacara Garments, The Bike Barn, and Spanish Villa make the annual event a huge success.
A special thanks also goes out to the Opus Women's Cycling Team for providing coaching services to the camp. This year's coaches included Diana Bladon, Jenny Trew and Sarah Stewart.
The next training camp event will take in the San Francisco Grand Prix (featuring Lance Armstrong) and some great riding in Marin (September). Details for all camps and upcoming events can be obtained at elitewave.com.
