U.S. National Series #1 - Snow Summit, California

Canadian Dustin Adams had a breakthrough ride today at the Norba National DH in Snow Summit, California, finishing 3rd.

Adams was 13th fastest in qualifying, but the course changed dramatically between qualifying and the final. The course had a high speed top section, technical middle ravine section, then into a runout that became very dry. In the qualifying, this section was pretty straightforward, but it dried out and became "sugary", and lots of riders were washing out during the final. Dustin rode last section well - not too fast and sketchy. With 12 riders remaining, he posted the fastest time of day. John Kirkcaldie knocked him out (fifth from last) then the last rider, Chris Kovarik, bumped him into third. This is the first time in many years that Canada has had a downhiller on the podium at a race of this calibre.

Adams: " I'm on fire right now baby, it's time to go. the last two years I've been plagued by injuries - two broken shoulders, two broken collarbones. I missed all the big races. "

1 Chris Kovarik Intense-Foes 3:08.00
2 John Kirkcaldie Maxxis 3:10.4
3 Dustin Adams (Can) Giant Canada 3:11.6
