This Mountain Bike Racing Camp will be modeled after the very successful BC High School Invitational Camp that has been offered at Brentwood College and sponsored by the Sprockids Society and Pacific Sport, organized by the Shore Group for the past 5 years. Top youth racers from around the Province have been invited each year to this exclusive camp that gives them the opportunity to learn from top Canadian National Team Mountain Bike Professionals in a weekend camp. Each year we have hosted 65 youths and kept a waiting list of other keen racers over and above the limit of the camp capacity.Camp participants ride each day with their heroes and with coaches, followed by intensive Indoor Training and seminars, and entertainment.
The Shore Group Whistler High School Race Camp will be a three-day multi facetted instructional opportunity for aspiring High School age Mountain Bike Racers. We will limit the number of participants in 2002. They will enjoy lift-assisted instruction in the mornings followed by video and lunch. A Cross-Country ride will fill the afternoon. In the evenings there will be indoor training sessions. Guest speeches by Mountain Bike Legends and National Team Coaches as well as autograph opportunities. A relay race will wind up the 3-day camp.
The date is selected to feed off the energy created by the World Cup Mountain Bike Event in Vancouver July 4 to 7. This will also enable visiting World Cup Celebrities to attend the Camp as guest coaches.
The Shore Group partners, Lesley Tomlinson, Alison Sydor, Andreas Hestler, Elladee Brown and Andrew Shandro, bring 70 years of experience and accolades to the project. World Championship and World Cup wins, titles, and podiums as well as multiple Olympic Teams experience and medals.
The three-day camp is hosted by Whistler Mountain and utilizes their fabulous Lift Assisted Mountain Bike Park. Technical Sessions will take place in the park as well as group rides in the miles of incredible trail networks offered by the Whistler Valley.Included in the camp price is 2 Nights of Accommodation, as are day meals, lift tickets and instruction.Instructional components will include cross training elements and training discussions as well as seminars, an athlete forum and practical knowledge clinics.
