The Canadian Cycling Association is the national sport governing body dedicated to lead and support the development and growth of competitive cycling in
Canada. With the support of our funding partners, sponsors and suppliers, and in partnership with our provincial affiliates and clubs, the CCA is responsible for
developing athletes from grassroots to elite, coaches and officials in all aspects of cycling. We are seeking a qualified individual for this position.

National Programs Coordinator

The National Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director, and works closely with other staff, volunteers, provincial associations, clubs and other sport
agencies. He/She will provide leadership and management of the association’s sport development programs. Key areas of responsibilities include, but are not
limited to:

- Provide planning, evaluation and control of the National Teams program and National Team personnel (Coordinator and Coaches)

- Coordinate sport science activities in support of the National Teams program and technical development

- Provide leadership and coordinate to the development of coaching and officiating programs

- Coordinate and provide leadership for the National Cycling Centres.

- Liaise with key strategic partners (sport agencies, provincial associations and sponsors).

- Implement the Athlete Development Model

A full job description is available upon request. This position is based in Ottawa with some occasional travel, position will be reviewed end of 2003.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- A university degree, or equivalent experience in sport administration
- Proven program leadership and management skills
- Bilingualism (English and French)
- Competent computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook Express)
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate volunteers
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Experience and knowledge of Cycling is a definite asset.

Salary Range: The position offers a competitive salary and benefit package commencing with experience.

The CCA complies with Sport Canada equity and bilingualism policies.

For the two DH weekends I will be arranging deals on local accomodations or camping. Plus I believe I have it set up so that the saturday night at Blue we will
have the Lounge at the Blue Mountain Inn reserved for us for a night of relaxing.

New Brunswick News - Velodrome Open and Sunday Ride

Thanks to the great work of many volunteers, we will be able to open the Velodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe this Saturday, April 13, from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Cyclists who took their Track 101 course last year are welcomed (note that the first course will be given on Saturday, May 18th; you may register now).

The Mike's Bike Shop club is planing Sunday rides for this Sunday, April 14th. Everyone is invited to do one (the first or the second) or two loops. Meeting place is at MacDonalds in Magnetic Hill. First at 8:00, out Indian mtn, over to Irishtown, and back Ammon/Front Mountain. That should put as at MacDonalds at 10:00. Second loop out Homestead rd, to Lower Mtn rd, Up Salisbury Rd to Upper Mtn Rd, then back in the homestead. That one takes about 1:30.

Grâce au travail de plusieurs bénévoles, le Vélodrome Caisse populaire Dieppe pourra ouvrir ses portes aux coureurs le samedi 13 avril de 13 h à 15 h. Les coureurs ayant suivie leur initiation à la piste l'an dernier sont bienvenue (notez que notre premier cours aura lieu le samedi 18 mai; inscrivez-vous dès maintenant).

11 avril 2002

Le club cycliste Mike's Bike Shop organise une sortie du dimanche pour le 14 avril. Tout le monde y est invité à faire une boucle (la première ou la seconde) ou les deux boucles. Le lieu de rencontre est au MacDonalds de Magnetic Hill. Premièrement, à 8 h, la route passera sur Indian mtn, Irishtown, et de retour sur Ammon/Front Mountain. Les coureurs devraient donc être de retour au MacDonals vers 10 h pour la seconde boucle qui sera Homestead rd, Lower Mtn rd, Salisbury Rd et Upper Mtn Rd, de retour sur Homestead. Cette boucle devrait prendre 1h30.
