Martinez to the Road?
Mapei-Quick Step has made two major announcements. First, they have let team leader Michele Bartoli go. Second, they have signed mountain bike star Miguel Martinez to a three year contract. There is no word on whether Martinez will do both road and mountain bike, or will switch entirely to road. We questioned the 2000 Olympic and World Champion at Mont Ste Anne on his plans for next season, and he would not (or could not) provide a clear answer. Now we know why...
