Stage 2 of the Women's Tour de l'Abitibi on Saturday saw Team Norway take their second win in two days, with Oda Aune Gissinger winning five seconds ahead of teammate and Stage 1 winner Marte Dolven, who outkicked Abigael Fortier (Equipe du Quebec) in the field sprint. Dolven remains the overall race leader, one second ahead of Gissinger, with Fortier in third at five seconds. Dolven also holds the Points and Climber's jerseys, while Zoe Bihan (France) remains the top Young Rider, in fifth overall. Norway holds the lead in the Team GC by five seconds over Canada, France and Japan.

Stage 2, a 98.6 kilometre stage that began in Senneterre and ended with five laps of the finishing circuit in Val d'Or, saw multiple breakaway attempts, starting with Elodie Malois (Team Canada), who broke away solo seven kilometres into the stage, reaching a maximum gap of 25 seconds before she was caught and dropped by a chase duo of Raphaelle Houde (Team Canada) and Pascal Savard (Equipe du Quebec). This pair gained over a minute before the peloton managed to pull them back at the 30 kilometre mark.

Adeline Latour (Liftow - KW Cycling Academy) as the next to go, just a couple of kilometres late, gaining 50 seconds before she and Frederique Rondeau (EC Subway) were brought back at the 46 kilometre mark. This was the last serious break, although there were numerous attacks leading into the finishing circuit.

Norway launched Gissinger off the front in the last lap, and she managed to hold on to the finish, with 18 riders contesting for the other podium spots.

The women's race concludes Sunday with a circuit race in Val d'Or consisting of nine laps of a 10.4 kilometre course. No rider has an insurmountable lead in any of the Jersey categories, so the final standings are still wide open.
