May 9/25 13:50 pm - Giro d'Italia: Stage 1

Posted by Editoress on 05/9/25

Favourite Mads Pedersen(Lidl-Trek) benefitted from the work his team did to make the race hard enough to prevent attacks from the pure sprinters and maintaining the pace up the climb on the final loop. It all came down to a duel with Wout van Aert (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) but the Dane kept the situation under control, becoming the first cyclist from Denmark to lead the Giro d’Italia.

Derek Gee had a tough start, losing 57 seconds.
