Team Canada dominated the Continental Championships last week in San Juan, Argentina, winning 11 gold medals, plus six silver and two bronze. Mexico finished in second place with six golds, while Colombia finished in third with three golds and Trinidad and Tobago was fourth with two victories.
Scratch Race world champion Dylan Bibic led the Canadian squad with five Pan American titles, in the Scratch, Omnium, Madison, Team Pursuit and Elimination. Other Canadians to win titles were Lauriane Genest in the Sprint, Ariane Bonhomme and Chris Ernst in the Individual Pursuit and James Hedgecock in the Kilo. In the team events, Canada won the men's and women's Team Pursuit, and the men's Team Sprint - the Canadian women took silver in the Team Sprint.
