Gears Racing to Sponsor Canada Cup #1 at Hardwood Hills

Gears Racing and the Gears Racing Institute are proud to announce Gears Racing as the new Title Sponsor for Canada Cup #1 at Hardwood Hills. Unfortunately, Ford Motor Company's choice to withdraw from sponsoring "extreme sports" left the Canada Cup without a Title Sponsor. Gears Racing will be filling this vacancy at the opening Canada Cup of the 2001 season.

"It is unfortunate to see such a strong supporter such as Ford re-evaluate their participation in the sport. However, we see this as an excellent opportunity for Gears Racing to show its support for the sport of mountain biking in Canada. We are very excited to work with Hardwood Hills on this event." commented Kevin Wallace of Gears Racing.

The Gears Racing Canada Cup #1 will be taking place June 8-10, 2001 at Hardwood Hills, Ontario. The event will include the Jamis Short Track XC and Ontario Cup Dual Downhill races on Saturday, June 9, 2001 and the Gears Racing Canada Cup XC race on Sunday, June 10, 2001.
