The Tour de France has offered a one day race for women since 2014, called La Course. For the past three years it has been on the final day of the Tour in Paris, ending on the Champs Elysees. This year, La Course takes in one of the Alpine mountain stages, with the final 66 kilometres of the 18th stage from Briançon to the Izoard on July 20th. The women will tackle the 10 kilometres leading to Casse Déserte, which boast an average gradient of over 9%.
