October 16/16 0:44 am - UCI Disc Brake Road Trial Not for Domestic Teams & Events

We reported on Thursday that the UCI is going to resume its trial of disc brake use in road events for 2017. [See UCI Introduces New Events & Regulations for MTB, BMX & Track, Plus Disc Brake Trial Resumes]

However, it should be clarified that this trial is only for WorldTour, Pro Continental and Continental teams in World Tour and Women's WorldTour events, and not Canadian domestic level events. At that level disc brakes are still banned for sanctioned road events.
