We are saddened to report that Chris Lepik passed away last Friday. We knew Chris as the Photo Editor at Canadian Cycling magazine, where he worked on that and other publications for 14 years, before moving on to newsrooms365.com, roughly a year ago. He purchased photos from us, and I saw him regularly at events and product launches. Some photo editors can be (to put it bluntly) a pain in the ass, with last minute demands, nickle-and-diming budgets and a condescending attitude. Chris was none of those; one of those rare individuals who stuck by his word and was appreciative of the efforts we made. He was also a true outdoors person, interested in the sport (although fairly new to it) and a strong rider (at the launches we attended together). We hadn't been in touch since he left the magazine, and I'm sorry to realize that we won't have the chance to connect again.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, September 9th, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the African Wildlife Foundation.
