The Ontario Cycling Association is pleased to announce our first Ontario Cup Track race for 2015. Four events take center stage this weekend.
Over 110 riders have registered for the first event. Organizer Greg Rawson (OCA) indicated that "The response to our first race is overwhelming, many hours of planning have gone into the format of the races to give Sprinters and Endurance athletes the opportunity to reach the top step of the podium. The OCA is looking forward to welcoming riders from the United States, Quebec and Ontario."
The infield will be packed with racers. The event is a two day affair, that begins on Friday evening at 6pm and continues Saturday at 3pm, is open and FREE to the public with general seating available. "If you have never seen a bicycle race or track event, come out and be prepared to make a lot of noise," Rawson continued. "The riders race harder when there is a lot cheering. Cow bells, horns and other noise making devices will keep all the riders on their toes."
"The athletes competing this weekend will range in age from 15 (Junior Category) to 60 in our Masters group. Many of the best Ontario Junior and Elite racers will be locking handlebars with our visitors from La Belle Province. This event could be a preview of the National Championships, which will be held at the end of the summer here in Milton."
