September 4/14 10:32 am - Steed Cycles Announces Cyclo-cross Team Roster

It's full steam ahead for the Steed Cycles cyclocross team with the 2014 season approaching.  Building on the success of 2013, local Bicycle Store Owner Kim Steed will lead an extensive roster of riders in the chase for podium positions and provincial titles.  The Steed Cycles team will be racing across British Columbia and south of the border in a number of series, including the Vancouver Super Prestige Series, Cross on the Rocks, BC Provincial Championships, Cascade CX Series and MFG Series.

The team consists of provincial champions, series overall champions, ex-national team members and Olympians.  The team is supported by some prominent local businesses, including Kazlaw Injury Lawyers who specialize in bicycle accidents and claims.

Kim Steed said, "We feel it is important to partner with companies who have a love of cycling. Marc and the team at Kazlaw have always been supporters of the bicycle community. So much so that he will be joining us on the start line this season."

Two other companies that have been partnering with Steed Cycles all year long are no strangers to North Vancouver residents and tie in perfectly with bike racing. Bean Around the World Coffees has been a staple at local bike races for many years and continues to be associated with the team. Joining for 2014 is Bridge Brewing Company, a North Shore based brewery that is fast becoming a firm favourite of the bicycling beer connoisseur.

"Aligning the team with local partners who have the same ideals as Steed Cycles is a great opportunity for the shop. Working together to promote bike riding and racing in our local community can only be a win for all involved," explains Paul McCarthy, Team Director.

The Steed Cycles race team will be supported within the industry by the best brands and products available including Giant Bicycles Canada, Sugoi Apparel, POC Helmets and Smith Optics.
