A Reuters news agency poll of Americans found that only 12% believed the disgraced cyclist was genuinely remorseful during his two part interview with Oprah Winfrey. The poll, conducted by Ipsos, was taken between January 18th and 22nd, with 1240 people surveyed.
Forty eight percent (48%) said that Armstrong only admitted to doping since he could no longer cover it up and one-third said that the he did it to start rebuilding his image.
In other results of the survey, 57% said he should retain his lifetime ban and 71% said he was a bad role model for children.
