More Cross Country results from the MTB Worlds  Masters Men 30-39  Canadian Ted Ingram finished 13th, 13:18 behind, Reece Rendall finished one lap down.  Masters Men 40-49  Canadian Robert Anderson was 18th, at 23:19, and Francois Amyot was 44th, 58:14 back. Gary Fisher, our chatroom guest from a couple of days ago, abandoned.   For all MTB (Cross Country + Downhill) fans spread across Canada and beyond:  Today (Thursday) is "Seeding Run" day for the downhillers... so cross your fingers and hope that everyone makes it across the finish line safe and sound for the finals. The weather is holding out and should continue to do so until this great event is over.  The downhill run, which was originally described as technically very demanding, became even more demanding after the rain set in last Saturday. The run has dried out in the meantime but it's rough as hell! The course will put great demands on the riders and machines. I hope your favourite rider has a big fat telescopic fork on the front-end and something similar on the rear.  Some bad news!  Last year's Junior Downhill Champion, Andy Bueler, from Switzerland, crashed during a training run and broke a bone in his hand. It means out for Andy and a disappointment for the team. He has been riding professionally (Scott International) since his triumph in Cairns last year and has established himself up front with the rest of the pros.  France's Francois Gachet(Sunn-Nike) is also viewing from the sidelines after a complicated fracture of the ankle. Francois wanted to end his career this year after the World Championships.  The European Championship silver medalist Isabelle Burri (Switzerland) will not be able to take part in the Women's Junior Cross Country due to a broken collar bone that she received while training 3 weeks ago here in Chateau-d'Oex.  Thomas Frischknecht has stopped taking medication for his stomach infection and is not terribly confident that the race will be a hit. He says it could be "Top or Flop".  I'll be off to the races on Saturday and will be there at the crack of dawn to watch the Downhill crowd do their stuff.  Good luck to everyone  Bob Archer PowerKicK!
