The International Cycling Union (UCI) has informed the National Olympic Committees (NOC) about the assigment of places for the Men's and Women’s track cycling events for the 2012 Olympic Games.
According to the table issued by the UCI
Canada has qualified 6 positions for the following events:
Women's Team Pursuit
Women's Omnium
Women's Keirin
Women's Sprint
Men's Omnium,
Men's Keirin
Canada has a reserve spot in the Men's Team Sprint, meaning that should one of the countries with a qualified spot decide NOT to send a team, Canada will get the spot.
NOCs must confirm the use of these quotas by 15th of June 2012, and any vacant spots will be reallocated by the UCI.
Note: Canada has qualified double the positions they did in Beijing!!!
