Last week, we published a news item on the efforts of Ontario MPP Norm Miller to introduce a Private Members Bill that would require paved shoulders on Ontario highways (See Daily News, November 30/11 17:59 pm - Ontario MPP Introduces Private Members Bill to Pave Highway Shoulders).
We have received a copy of a petition that MPP Miller hopes will provide support for the Bill. It was forwarded to us by Nat Faulkner, who contacted Mr Miller, and received the following reply:
Thanks for your email. I appreciate your support.
My plan is to prove to the government that this Bill has broad, widespread support from all Ontarians. To that end, I have attached a copy of a petition in support of the bill and hope that you will consider printing it or circulating it to others who will sign it. I will present these petitions in the Ontario Legislature when the Bill returns to the House for 2nd reading in March. To do this I require signed original copies.
You can download the petition here. Canadian Cyclist urges all members of the cycling community to support this initiative and sign people up on this petition.
