Rockies Challenge Indoor Mountain Bike Competition
Following on the recent spectacular success of the North Shore Indoor competition at the Vancouver Outdoor Adventure Sports Show, Altitude Events and National Event Management are pleased to announce the Rockies Challenge Indoor Mountain Bike Competition at the Calgary Round Up Centre March 24-26, 2000.
This event is designed to test fitness, technical ability, and all out aggressive riding skills. There will be three stages: a time trial, a dual elimination, and a stock trials competition. Points will be awarded in each competition and the rider with the lowest point total at the end of the competition wins.
The course will be both indoor and (weather permitting) outdoor. The course will be a dirt track featuring some of the features that you might find on a downhill mountain bike course: berms, jumps, tabletops, as well as a few that you might find on the north shore, like ramps. Inside the loop, several obstacles and stunts will be set up, such as teeter-totters, log pyramids, and wheelie drops.
