While many in the Canadian cycling community are familiar with Pierre Hutsebaut - former national coach and current coach of David Veilleux and Guillaume Boivin - not as many will know his daughter, Julie. Julie Hutsebaut is a Level 3 NCCP certified cycling coach. Formerly the Coordinator of the Para-cycling program at the CCA, Hutsebaut was lured away from the CCA late last year by the Canadian Paralympic Committee to become the Senior Coordinator for Paralympic Teams.
A former national Road team member herself, Hutsebaut "has been instrumental in helping develop the women's cycling program in Ottawa, and continues to be involved with her local community. She facilitates local technical skills clinics with new cyclists and trains master athletes looking to incorporate regular training sessions into their daily lives." states the Coaches Association of Ontario, which has selected her as the January Coach-of-the-Month.
