Norco Bicycles, Canada's largest cycling manufacturer and distributor, is giving its support for the Ride to Conquer Cancer a big boost by signing on as an official bicycle and tech support sponsor for all four RTCC events in 2011. As part of their continued commitment to the fight against cancer, Norco will be front and centre to provide valuable repairs and maintenance for event participants.

"With 2000 to 3500 riders per event and each event spanning two days, the Norco crew and supporting dealers will repair hundreds of flat tires and tune and tweak thousands of participants' bicycles to ensure that every rider can fulfill their pledge to help conquer cancer once and for all," stated Pete Stace-Smith, Norco's PR-Marketing Manager.

Norco has been a part of the Ride to Conquer Cancer for the past two years and has been steadily increasing its support each year. "The first year we provided tech support for the Western event, the second year we added Calgary and Toronto and we are really excited to be involved in all four events for 2011. It's the largest cycling fundraiser in Canada and has raised more than $88 million to date. We are thrilled to be a key part of the Ride to Conquer Cancer and also be a part of finding a cure for this disease," added Stace-Smith.

Cancer is expected to affect as many as two in five Canadians over their lifetimes, touching almost every Canadian in some way. The broad spread of this disease has made the RTCC's cause and events so compelling for participants. The events will be held in four Canadian cities: Toronto, June 11th and 12th; Vancouver, June 18th and 19th; Calgary, June 25th and 26th; and Montreal, July 9th and 10th. As part of an increased effort to support cycling advocacy and the cycling community, Norco has pledged $100,000 per year to cycling related events and causes since 2009. The Canadian company has put these funds to hard work making positive contributions to causes like Cyclebetes in their fight against juvenile diabetes, and organizations such as IMBA-and their efforts in keeping trails open, BIKES Belong - for helping get more people on bikes, and the VACC with their many new initiatives for urban cyclists.
