Jean-Richard Cormier rules on the track
For the second time in three weeks, Jean-Richard Cormier took the top spot on the podium at the Mike's Bike Shop Cup, confirming at the same time his velodrome abilities. Over the three week period of the series on the Caisse populaire Dieppe Vélodrome, Cormier scored no less then 290 points to jump to 6th place overall.
As for the Apogée leader, Justin Mallet, who held the lead the last few weeks before loosing it on the last day in 2009, just edged Jean-Jacques Ferguson to take the Apogée jersey by 5 points. Halfway through the 2010 series, Mallet now has 385 points, Ferguson has 380, and Keith Godfrey has 345 points. Neil Symington (330) and Julien Basque (325) complete the top 5.
The next portion of the Mike's Bike Shop Cup will be more then interesting with BMX, criterium and cyclo-cross events to go. No less then 82 riders have entered the series so far, already beating last year's record!
The participants will now enjoy a few weeks of with New Brunswick weekend day coming up. The series will resume on the Subway BMX Track on Tuesday, August 10th at 6:30.
