One week after the elite and U23 riders competed for their national individual time trial titles, it was the turn of the Junior riders today in Devon, Alberta.
Julia Garnet (Team Saskatchewan) and Stuart Wight (Team Atlantic) captured the Canadian Junior National titles, on a course covering a total distance of 22.5 kilometres for both Men and Women.
A total of 45 men took part in the race, while 18 women took the start.
"This is one of the best Time Trials this year," commented Garnet. "I got injured early in the season and it kind of put a hold on things, but this is a great comeback."
Stuart Wight said "I put a lot of practice time on the course this week ... I've been gaining strength over the last few weeks [after suffering from pneumonia] and it certainly helped my confidence here."
* Note: Jasmin Glaesser holds a German licence, so does not qualify to be National Champion
