Current points race information for the Alberta, Sask, Manitoba Tri-Province Road Race Series. The points will also be placed on the Sask Cycling Web Page, this weekend Following is info on the points series
1999 Tri-Province Road Race Series
Goals:
1. To revitalize interest in road racing on the prairies.
2. To ensure organizers have a reasonable field size.
3. To provide good competition for all categories.
4. To create a larger sponsorship base
5. To encourage clubs to travel with their members
Plan:
Each province (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) will assign two races weekend on their calender as Series events. Each race weekend will include two races for points. One race must be a road race and the other can be the organizer's choice (individual time trial or criterium). Points will be assigned for each race as follows:

Riders will accumulate points from their best three race weekends, but must use at least one race weekend from each province (To qualifty for prize monies the riders must attend one race in each province) . Riders can accumulate points in only one category. Points will be collected for the following five rider categories: cat 1&2 combined, cat 3, cat 4, cat 5 and women. Groups may be combined at certain events, but points will always remain separate. The SCA will record the points for the Series.
Series Prize List The following prize list will be used for all five rider categories:
1st $200
2nd $100
3rd $75
4th $75
5th $50
6th $50
7th $50
The three provinces will share the cost of the Series Prize List ($3,000).
Each organizer is responsible for individual race weekend prizes and awards.

May 22-24 Saskatoon
June 5-6 Winnipeg
June 12-13 Lethbridge
July 10-11 Canmore
July 31- Aug 1 Regina
