Canadians Head to Track World Cup #3
Courtesy CCA
After two tremendous performances at round #1 of the Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester, Tara Whitten of Edmonton is now gearing up for round #3 in Cali, Colombia December 11-13. Tara won 2 silver medals in the Individual Pursuit and the Scratch Race in Manchester, her first World Cup podiums ever.
In addition to the Individual Pursuit and the Scratch Race, Whitten will also have a first try at the Points Race. The Points Race is a very important component of the women's race program, as it is one of the only three disciplines (with the Sprint and the Individual Pursuit) to be included in Olympic Games.
Zach Bell will start his track season in Cali. The Yukon native finished seventh in the Points Race in Beijing, and looks forward to competing in the Points Race and the Scratch Race in Cali.
The team will be led by Tanya Dubnicoff, former National Team member and Olympic coach.
