In late October (ie, last week) 14 Canadian Track Cycling athletes spent the day training at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, California, at what is hoped to be the start of a Performance Development pool of athletes looking ahead to 2012 and 2016. The goal of these camps is to provide a pathway from potential to podium, and to provide support and motivation for aspiring athletes aiming at Olympic and World success. The riders completed a variety of skill sessions and tests over the four days.
"So far, so good on day one!" commented Richard Wooles, National Team Track Coach. "The riders are showing great potential already, even at this early stage."
This camp is the first of three planned camps - one at the Burnaby velodrome and one more at the Home Depot Center
