We (and much of the southern Ontario cycling community) were at the Toronto Bike Show on the weekend. It is a good time to catch up with people you haven't seen over the winter and, judging by the number bags we saw, a place to pick up some swag.

Some notes and news from the Show:

- Legendary Ontario road racer Don Zuck has launched his on bike line. Consisting of two models of road frames - The Don and The Mob - they will be available either as frame sets or complete bikes. To start with, he will be distributing in Ontario, with world domination to follow. www.zuckbikes.com

- Hugh Black at True North Cycles was showing off the latest in his handbuilt beauties, including this very trick urban singlespeed, which was garnering lots of attention.

- The D'Ornellas Cycling Club ran roller races through the weekend, with special competitions for the couriers and the bike industry. The always fit Aubrey Bryce beat out Ryeka Sport's Erik Davis in the final of the Industry division. Top time for 500 metres was 20.4 seconds.

- Duke's Cycle is showing that it maybe down, but definitely isn't out after the terrible fire which destroyed their Queen Street building. Thanks to suppliers such as Specialized and Trek, they were able to have a presence at the Show. Plans are underway for a new building, however, that will take at least 18 months, so until then Dukes will be operating out of a temporary location. We will have more details shortly.

- The Ontario Cycling Association also held their AGM at the Show. Besides the formalities of the approval of financial statements, reports, etc., there were also three positions up for election - VP Finance and Administration, VP Development and VP BMX. There were no nominees for any of the positions, so the Board has the option of choosing applicants themselves, or having the incumbents continue. The OCA will announce who will fill the positions shortly. At the meeting, the winning club of the OCA Club Challenge was announced and presented with the trophy - Cycle Solutions/Angry Johnny's Racing won by a whopping 750 point margin over Arrow Racing.

- Andrew Shandro, one of Canada's first generation top World Cup downhill racers, was in town for the first two days of the Show, promoting both B.C. Parks for mountain biking, and his own very successful Summer Gravity Camps at Whistler. Andrew says that there is a chance he will be racing at Sea Otter, but it's "just for fun".
