October, the Indoor Season had arrived....We Were Wrong! Monday was like late July at 26 degrees in the afternoon without any humidity. One day later...the indoor riding season did begin. Rain, rain and more rain with the temperature of only 9 degrees C.
The Track 1 Sessions have been very busy in the last 6 weeks. Many of the new riders have been attending the Rec Sessions to improve their riding skills until they feel confident enough to go to the Skills & Drills on Monday nights at 7:30.
With the help of the Ontario Trillium Foundation the Forest City Velodrome has brought our membership to 247. Our goal for the end of 2007 is to hit the 280 mark. Take advantage now and get the wheel turning. Contact info@ForestCityVelodrome.ca.
Memberships
FCV members we need your help. Membership dues keep the velodrome open. We need renewals in before November 1st. A current list of paid members of the FCV will be posted in the red binder on the infield. If your name is not in the book as a paid member, you will be asked to pay the $20.00 session fee. The session leaders have been asked to monitor the sign-in book for each session. This will ensure all riders have paid the appropriate fee in order to keep the velodrome open.
Trillium Award
On Thursday, October 24th, the Ontario Trillium Foundation is presenting the Forest City Velodrome Association with a "Great Grants" Award. On hand to accept the award will be Albert Coullier. Keep an eye on the Show Case in the front lobby for our new addition. A special thank you goes out to the Foundation for recognizing our efforts in helping to build a healthy and vibrant community.
Congrats!
Forest City's Keith Thorarison competed in the World Master's in Australia and won the Silver Medal in the Sprint Competition. Congratulations Keith, from all your friends and fans at the Velodrome. Way to go!
