National Team Training Centre -Victoria Athletes Start Off-Season Winter Training

The National Team Training Centre - Victoria will commence off-season winter training with its athletes on Tuesday, November 6th. The training program, which will be based at PacificSport's NTTC runs through the winter and early spring, finishing on March 28, 2008. The program is open to all Carded, National Team and Talent Pool athletes, as well as guest athletes with prior approval by NTTC's Head Coach Houshang Amiri.
The program consists of group rides, indoor gym sessions and yoga (specific to cycling) as well as information sessions and seminars. The group rides will take place three days a week - Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday - starting November 7. Start times are 10:00 am with all rides leaving from PacificSport, Victoria. The rides will be led by the NTTC-V coaching staff, and support vehicles provided by Saunders Subaru and Action Motorcycle.
The indoor gym sessions will be held two days a week - the Tuesday sessions are from 3:00 - 5:00 pm and the Friday sessions from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. The gym is located in the James Bay Community School, 140 Oswego Street, Victoria.
The winter training program is part of the national team strategy to prepare athletes for 2007 - 2008 race season, including preparation for the Beijing Olympics.
