Cycling BC Announces BMX Pre-World Championships

Cycling British Columbia, in cooperation with the Canadian Cycling Association is pleased to announce the BMX Pre-worlds Championships, held July 20th 21st at the Abbotsford BMX Track.
The Pre-world BMX championships are the lead up event to the 2007 World BMX Championships. These two events will feature over 1000 of the top BMX riders from over 40 countries battling it out on the track for their world titles. The 2007 World Event is the pre-cursor event to the debut of BMX at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Sport enthusiasts from around the world will be watching this event carefully to see who has a chance on the 2008 podium.
The World BMX Championship will be held in Victoria, July 26th 29th . In the past, the pre-world event has been held at the World track, however new Union Cycliste International (UCI) rules state that the BMX Pre-worlds event must be held at a separate track.
The Abbotsford Track successfully hosted the 2006 Canadian National Championships and is complemented by ample parking and support facilities The track and will undergo a variety of improvements to provide riders and spectators the best possible experience.

Date and Registration
The 2007 Pre-Worlds BMX competition will be held from Friday 19th July to Sunday 22nd July, 2007 at the Abbotsford BMX track. Registration is now available online at www.karelo.com or via fax to (604) 737-3141 (registration forms are available at www.cyclingbc.net . Race schedule and prize money for Championship classes is also listed on Cycling BCs website.
Accommodation
Cycling BC has secured a block reservation of rooms in several hotels in Abbotsford and the surrounding areas. The rooms are available at a preferred rate however the reservation is only available for a limited period. Please check the Cycling BC website (www.cyclingbc.net) for more detailed information.

Host Organization
Cycling British Columbia is affiliated to the UCI through our membership in the Canadian Cycling Association. The organization is the provincial governing body for the sport of cycling in British Columbia, Canada, representing a full range of cycling disciplines including Road, Track & Cyclo-cross, Mountain Biking and BMX. Cycling BC has 2000 licensed riders and over 4000 club members participating actively in competitive cycling across the province.
