Plaxton Signs with Giga-Bike

Max Plaxton has signed with Giga-Bike Junior-Espoir Development Cycling Team for 2007. Plaxton will focus a major part of his time on road racing in the coming year. Meanwhile, he will continue to race off-road for Rocky MountainˆBusiness Objects, focusing on World Cup MTB events in order to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Max Plaxton is one of Canada's most accomplished young cyclists. At 21 years old he has won multiple Junior-Relay World Championships, National U-23 Championships and most recently the Bronze medal at the 2006 Mountain Bike World Championships in New Zealand. Other top results achieved by Max are:

• Bronze Medal at 2005 PanAm MTB Championships,
• Bronze Medal Team Relay 2003 World Championships,
• Winner of 2006 Cheakamus Challenge,
• Winner of '06 Canada Cup XC Events #1, #2 and #5
• Winner of Å’06 Cops for Cancer Criterium.

Giga-Bike Junior-Espoir Development Cycling Team is Vancouver Island's only cycling trade team dedicated to the development of Junior and Espoir cyclists and is based out of Victoria, BC. Giga-Bike Junior-Espoir Development Cycling Team participates year round in road racing events in Victoria and Vancouver, British Columbia.
