UCI Announces Road Worlds Quotas for Men
Courtesy UCI
The UCI has announced the number of riders each country will be able to enter in the men's world championship road race on September 24th in Salzberg, Austria. Qualification numbers are based on ProTour and Continental Tour rankings.
Based on these standings, it could be argued that Canada should be sending squads to Continental races, since there is a stronger possibility of qualifying more individuals. However, it needs to be pointed out that most top Canadian men are on pro squads that would not release them to attend many of the races in South America.
